Mission Statement
The Mission of the Lincoln Bike Kitchen is to transform lives by making cycling available to everyone. We are a community-building organization that advocates for utilitarian bicycling as a vital part of a healthy, equitable and sustainable community. We connect cycling to broader environmental and social issues through outreach and education.

What We Do
The Lincoln Bike Kitchen empowers people in our local community of Lincoln by actively promoting and advocating for cycling. It is run entirely by volunteers and supported by donations (bikes, parts, tools, money) from the community.
Cycling can be a fun, healthy, environmentally-friendly, and cost effective mode of transportation. We believe that it should be made safe and available for everyone who wants to be a "biker."
The Lincoln Bike Kitchen provides refurbished bikes to community members so anyone that wants to be biking can be, for free. By combining free access to professional tools with a team of knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers, we also aim to help others develop the basic maintenance skills that will keep their bikes rolling for a lifetime.

Thank you from McPhee Elementary
"On the behalf of McPhee Elementary school, thank you for all of the bikes the Bike Kitchen has donated to us. At McPhee Elementary, we have about 93 percent free and reduced lunch. We have a few kids who go in and out of the homeless shelter throughout the year. Our kids do not have a lot here so you can only imagine how much this means to them.
When I was giving bikes to students that were donated I received so many thank you's, hugs, and bright smiles from students here at McPhee. Because, of the bike kitchen more than 30 students can now ride a bike, or learn to ride a bike. These students also will get much needed exercise that they
can now enjoy. The bikes that have been fixed up and donated will get a lot of use out of them from our students. Once again thanks for all the hard work you do, and the hours you have put in to get kids who need bikes a bike to ride."
